The fifth edition of the ‘Stage of Champions (SOC) Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship continues to gain positive attention from the corporate community.
Yesterday, CEO of Fitness Express, Jamie McDonald presented a sponsorship pact to organizer of the event on Sunday, Videsh Sookram at the entity’s Sheriff Street location.
Sookram thanked McDonald for the kind gesture and stated that the sponsorship received will go towards the cash prizes that the successful athletes will receive on the championship night at the Ramada Princess Hotel.
McDonald stated that the entity has been a long standing benefactor of sports locally and is happy to be a sponsor of the fixture and wished it a successful showing.
As customary, the organizers of SOC are keen on bringing regional and international bodybuilding and fitness athletes to Guyana.
So far, about eight countries, inclusive of Guyana, have registered for the Championship and will stage athletes in the key bodybuilding and fitness categories of Bodybuilding, Miss Bikini and Men’s Physique.
Over the years SOC, would have attracted participating competitors from: Suriname, Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, Anguilla, St Maarten, Grenada and Trinidad and Tobago.
Doors are set to open at 16:00hrs and tickets cost $3000. The highly anticipated event is a collaborative effort involving the Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation and SOC.
Guyana is expected to be represented by several elite athletes including reigning Mr. Guyana Bodybuilding Champion Darious Ramsammy, reigning Mr. Guyana Physique Champion, Emmerson Campbell and CAC gold Medalist, Julio Sinclair.
