Kwakwani, Marian Academy, and President’s College recorded wins in the Boy’s U16 division when the ExxonMobil National School Basketball Festival (NSBF) continued yester2day at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
Kwakwani downed Diamond 46-22. Roshane Sampson netted 17 points and 7 rebounds, whilst Shamar Sam added eight points and as many rebounds. For the loser, Benkhai King recorded 18 points and five rebounds.
On the other hand, Marian Academy bested St. Rose’s High 34-26. Jaden Simon registered a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds, with Kaden Khan adding seven points. For St. Rose’s, Donnie Caspar netted 13 points, whilst Paul France scored 10 points.
Similarly, President’s College defeated Mackenzie High 27-19. Aiden Semple accumulated 12 points and three rebounds, whilst Ezekiel Saul registered eight points and six steals. For the loser, Gemear Marshall and Jermaine McCalmont scored five and four points each.
Meanwhile, Queen’s College edged the Bishops’ High 31-26. Ezekiel Griffith tallied 16 points and 6 rebounds, whilst Owen Hooper added six points and four rebounds. For Bishops’ High, Yaneil Easton recorded 12 points, four rebounds, and four steals.
In the Boy’s U14 segment, the Bishops’ High edged Youth basketball Guyana (YBG) 21-20 in double overtime. Micaiah DeFreitas recorded eight points, five steals and three rebounds, whilst Kemol Pickering tallied eight points and four rebounds. For the loser, Chazaiah Bernard recorded a double-double of 13 points and 17 rebounds.
Also, Queen’s College downed Marian Academy 9-2. Jared Boucher scored five points and eight steals.
