The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) on Sunday afternoon launched the Dior’s ‘Bits and Pieces U23 Championship at the Bush Lots Sports ground, West Coast Berbice.
The event, which will utilize an elimination format, will be eligible to players born on or after September 1st 2000. The competing teams are: Bush Lot United, Achievers, Cotton Tree, Tucber Park, Guymine, Albion, Rose Hall Canje, RHT Namilco Thunderbolt Flour, Upper Corentyne and Port Mourant. All matches will be 50 overs per innings.
BCB President Hilbert Foster stated that the launching of the event is evident of the strides that have been made in the region which has made the entity an unrivaled entity in the development of the discipline, noting that every age group barring the U21 level, is being played within the confines of the association’s jurisdiction.
Meanwhile, Dior’s ‘Bits and Pieces’ representative Roshel De Vieira stated that the company is happy to support the endeavours of the BCB, noting that she expects a highly competitive tournament. Also, present at the launch of the event was Region Five Vice-Chairman Rion Peters.
