Berbice Educational Institute was crowned the Region #6 champion, defeating Vryman’s Erven by a 3-2 score-line when the Digicel Schools Football Championship continued yesterday.
It was a chaotic second half at the Scott’s School ground, as all five goals were recorded. The trio of Colisi Scipio, T’Jon Reid, and Jomal Adams found the back of the net in the 50th, 53rd, and 70th+5 minute respectively for the eventual victor. For the loser, Akeem Hosannah and Keron George etched their name on the scorer’s sheet in the 61st and 70th+4 minute apiece.
Meanwhile, Tutorial High bested New Amsterdam Multilateral 4-1 on penalty kicks after regulation time ended 1-1. Prior to the aforesaid conclusion, Jordon Butts equalised for Tutorial in the 26th minute after Xavier Ferreira netted for New Amsterdam in the 22nd minute.
In the Georgetown section of the Region #4 zone, Charlestown edged Carmel 1-0 at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
Tyler Lyle made his presence felt in the 65th minute. Also, Marian Academy bested St. Winifred’s 3-1. Tevaun Taylor crafted a brace in the 20th, and 59th minute, whilst Bradley Walton scored in the 15th minute.
