Dear Editor,
The furore over two appointees to the recently constituted PSC is nothing but a storm in a teacup. After all, everyone is somebody’s wife, mother, has political affiliation or linkages to senior operatives. What makes these persons unsuitable to serve on the commission or hold public office? Must they be denied the opportunity to continue to contribute to the further development of the country? The entire commission must be allowed to work and function unhindered, free from all pressures, political and otherwise. It is prudent to note there are those who are accused of committing greater sins than what these persons are being maligned for, and still hold public office.
Sincerely,
Shamshun Mohamed
