Team Hard-ball was crowned the Mocha Village Cup Football Champions, defeating Ballers Empire on penalty kicks on Saturday evening at the Community Centre Tarmac.
Locked 1-1 at the end of normal time, Team Hard-ball prevailed 2-1 on penalty kicks to secure the championship trophy and first prize of $300,000. On the other hand, Ballers Empire walked away with $150,000.
In the third place playoff, Team City defeated Touches 3-2. Due to the outcome, Team City pocketed $60,000, whilst Touches received $30,000. On the individual side of the presentation, Ryan Hackett of Team Hard-ball was adjudged the event’s Most Valuable Player, and pocketed $20,000, whilst teammate Simeon Moore copped the Most Improved Player accolade.
