Allottees of the No. 75 Housing Development (First Phase), East Berbice-Corentyne (Region Six) yesterday signed up for their Agreement of Sale and Certificate of Title, according to the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHPA).

The exercise was led by the Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal and the Chief Executive Officer of the CHPA, Sherwyn Greaves. It was held at the Classic International Hotel and Suites Parking Lot.

The CHPA said in a release that the documents will grant the allottees legal ownership to their respective lots. Approximately 200 persons have been allocated lands in the scheme. Croal stated that $1.2 billion is currently being invested in the No. 75 scheme for infrastructure works. Meanwhile, the neighbouring No. 76 scheme is seeing close to $2 billion in ongoing infrastructure projects.

CHPA said that to fast-track the homeownership process, some 100 houses were constructed at Hampshire and another 100 (76 nearing completion) at Ordnance Fortlands. Since 2020, over 1,200 house lots have been allocated to Region Six residents, the CHPA said.
