Dolphin Secondary was crowned Region #4 Georgetown divisional champion in the Digicel Schools Football Championship, defeating Excelsior 2-1 yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
Jequan Cole and Gerry Burnett found the back of the net in the 31st and 46th minute respectively to seal Dolphin’s maiden zonal title in the event. On target in the loss was Albert Adams in the second minute. Meanwhile, West Ruimveldt downed Charlestown 3-1 in the third place playoff. Donovan Welcome recorded a double while Joshua Sharples netted once. For the loser, Elijah Marcus scored a consolation goal.
The event continues today at the same venue with the Region #7 final, as Bartica opposes DC Caesar Fox [formerly Waramadong] from 17:30hrs.
