The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport (MCY&S) has thrown its support behind the inaugural Kares ‘One Guyana’ T10 Tape-ball Blast, which is penciled for July 29th-30th.
Minister Ramson during brief remarks applauded the efforts of the organisers in creating a unique product which he hopes evolves and expands with each edition.
He further proposed that the National Stadium in Providence could be utilised as the venue for the grand final in future iterations given the magnitude of support that is expected to be attained by the tournament.
The event, which will feature 32 teams, will be staged at several venues. The Police Sports Club facility, the Guyana Defence Force ground, Queen’s College ground, YMCA ground, and Transport Sports Club facility will be utilised on July 29th. The finals will be hosted at the Everest Cricket Ground on July 30th.
The first ever champions will pocket $1M, while the losing finalist will collect $300,000. The two losing semi-finalists will walk away with $100,000 each. There will also be prizes for outstanding individual performances.
