Miner, Derwin Green, of Tuschen New Scheme, East Bank Essequibo has been held over the possession of suspected cocaine and ganja, the police said yesterday.
The police said that at about 8.30 pm on Tuesday, police ranks from Regional Division #3 went to the Vreed-en-Hoop Stelling, where they arrested him while he was in possession of 38.5 grams of suspected cocaine and 13.8 grams of marijuana.
Green was approached at the stelling by one of the ranks, who identified himself as a policeman and requested to search his person for anything illegal, to which he agreed.
A rank then conducted a search on his person and found, in his right side pants pocket, a black plastic bag containing three white transparent plastic bags containing a whitish rocklike substance suspected to be cocaine.
He was then arrested and escorted to the Vreed-en-Hoop Police Outpost.
At the Outpost, a rank conducted a further search on Green and found in the waist of his boxer shorts a clear transparent plastic bag containing a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis.
