Busy weekend for nation’s wheelsmen

The nation’s cyclists will have a busy weekend as two events are scheduled on the racing calendar.

First up today, the wheelsmen will match pedals on the circuit of the National Park in the Team Alanis sponsored multi-race event for numerous categories.

The fixture which gets underway from 09:00hrs, will cater for seniors, juniors and masters (40 laps), Over 50 and beginners (12 laps), juveniles and females (14 laps) and kids 8-12 years (two laps).

Tomorrow, the riders will take their talents to Berbice to compete in the Flying Ace Cycle Club organized 50-mile road race.

The event which is open to all cyclists countrywide, is scheduled to get off to a flying start from 09:00hrs.

Organized by the Flying Ace Cycling Club, the race which is geared to attract the cream of the nation’s riders, will pedal off from Skeldon, proceed to Rose Hall and return to the point of origin for the finish.According to President of the club, Randolph Roberts, there will be lucrative prizes awarded to the first six finishers, first three juniors, the first three veterans (0-40yrs), the first three juveniles and the first three females.

 The females, will start at Rose Hall and proceed to Skeldon for their finish.

Cyclists are reminded that they must compete in their club kit.
