Thirty-two teams will take to the field but by the end of the day, only four will head on to Sunday for the play-off stage in the largest tapeball tournament in the country, the Kares One Guyana T10 blast.

Due to rain, the tournament has added the Everest Cricket Club and the Georgetown Cricket Club to their list of venues – YMCA, Police Sports Club, Queen’s College, Guyana Defence Force (GDF) and Transport Sports Club, ensuring the tournament is played to the highest standard.

All teams making it to the final day at Everest will not walk away empty handed, but all will be vying for the top prize of $1M, the largest payout in the history of the sport locally. Second place will cart off  $300,000 while the losing semi-finalists will win $100,000 each. An exhibition match will also be played among notable personalities in Guyana for $200,000 which will be donated to charity.

A lot is at stake for the teams with three television compliments of Regal Stationery up for grabs as well as a motorcycle for the Most Valuable Player compliments of Assuria Insurance.

However, to make it into the semi-finals, teams will be required to win three matches in the straight knockout 10-over tournament.

At Police, Prime Minister, Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Phillips will officially bowl off the tournament. The first match at the venue will see Ministry of Housing and Water going up against Central Stars from 09.00 hours followed by Avery Lounge and VNet Vipers playing at 11.00 hours.

At 09.00 hours Eccles All Star will be taking on Hero Riders at Queen’s College while the Guards will battle Bartica Bulls on the second pitch at the venue. The 11.00 hours matches at the venue will see Ariel XI going up against Movements and Big B’s Blairmont Blazers clashing with MS13.

Avinash All Stars and PB Contractors will face off at YMCA at 09.00 hours followed by Team Corruption and Upsetters at 11.00 hours while at GDF, Continental Transport and Moruca will go toe to toe in the first match followed by GPL and Laluni at 11.00 hours.
