The Lucas Stock Index rose 0.045 percent during the fourth period of trading in July 2023. Sales of shares were lower this period with 62,390 shares changing hands. The three Climbers gained enough ground over the three Tumblers this period to enable the LSI to gain G$411M.
The stock price of Caribbean Container Inc (CCI) climbed 16.071 percent on the sale of 16,160 shares while the stock price of Citizens Bank gained 2.273 percent on the sale of 2,000 shares. Contributing also to the favourable movement of the index were the stocks of Demerara Bank Limited (DBL) which rose 0.806 percent on the sale of 31,144 shares.
The positive movement in the LSI was challenged by the stocks of Demerara Tobacco Company (DTC) which lost 1.027 percent on the sale of 504 shares. Weaker challenges were mounted by Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) which lost 0.722 percent on the sale of 27 shares and Republic Bank Limited (RBL) which lost 0.382 percent on the sale of 94 shares.
In the meanwhile, the stock prices of Banks DIH (DIH) and Sterling Products Limited (SPL) remained unchanged on the sale of 12,241 and 220 shares respectively.
