DC Caesar Fox, Excelsior, Mackenzie, and Santa Rosa register victories

DC Caesar Fox [formerly Waramadong], Excelsior, Mackenzie High, and Santa Rosa recorded victories, when the Round of 32 segment in the Digicel Schools Football Championship continued yesterday.

At the Ministry of Education (MOE), Carifesta Avenue, DC Caesar Fox dismantled West Demerara 18-0. Bevon Jones tallied an impressive 10 goals. He found the back of the net in the fifth, 20th, 26th, 37th, 43rd, 55th, 70th, 73rd, 77th, and 89th minute.

Also getting into the goal rush was Carrington Isaacs, who registered a helmet trick in the 15th, 24th, 42nd, and 85th minute, whilst Bruce Williams tallied a double in the 51st and 81st minute. Recording a conversion was Leon Larson in the 83rd minute, whilst an own goal in the 32nd minute added to the score.

Similarly, Excelsior mauled Buxton 8-2. Jamal Collins, Dwayne James, Rukquan Alexander, Tyrece Lyle, Nivek Boyce, Omali Vieira, Shaquille Sergeant, and Adriano Wharton scored in the 29th, 30th, 39th, 49th, 55th, 72nd, 83rd, and 89th minute respectively.

For the loser, Aqueni Lucas and Treon Hatton netted in the 10th and 64th minute apiece.

On the other hand, Santa Rosa defeated Richard Ishmael 2-0 via a double from Nelson Lucas in the 58th and 80th minute.

Meanwhile, Region #10 champion Mackenzie brushed aside East Ruimveldt 6-0 at the Wisburg ground. Dexter Milo crafted a helmet trick in the fourth, 65th, 66th, and 70th minute while Jevon Dennis and Joel Siland scored in the 75th and 80th minute respectively.

Also, Kwakwani defeated Soesdyke 5-1. Kelon Philips tallied a second half helmet trick in the 59th, 61st, 97th, and 99th minute, whilst Shamar Gomes broke the deadlock in the 55th minute. For the loser, Anderson Webber netted a brace in the 69th and 73rd minute, whilst Jermin Lewis scored in the 63rd minute.

The event continues today with the remaining matches in the round of 32 segment. Winner of the competition will receive $1,000,000 towards a school project and the championship trophy, while the second, third, and fourth place finishers will pocket $500,000, $300,000, and $200,000 respectively towards a school initiative and the corresponding trophies.
