Prime Minister Mark Phillips on July 25 met with the founder and Chairman of the Digicel Group, Denis O’Brien, along with several executives from Digicel Guyana, at his office in Georgetown.
During the meeting, the team updated Prime Minister Phillips on Digicel’s ongoing corporate restructuring and reassured him of the company’s dedication to Guyana’s telecommunications sector, a release from the PM’s office said.
The representatives also highlighted the company’s commitment to the landing of the new Deep Blue One Subsea cable, which is expected to be finished in early 2024.
O’Brien was accompanied by the Chief of Staff at Digicel Group, rank O’Carroll; the Chief Executive Officer of Digicel Guyana, Deonarine Gopaul; Government Relations Advisor, Dinanath Ramnarine; and General Counsel Jarleth Burke and Desha Clifford.
