The Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) is currently hosting its 2023 Summer Camp.
The camp, which started on Monday, will run for the next two weeks at the National Gymnasium before it concludes on August 11.
The camp is open to anyone wishing to be part of the action and is expected to feature over 50 persons from all corners of Guyana.
The camp will be conducted from 09.00 hours to noon daily. It is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport along with the National Sports Commission.
According to the GBA, the camp will be spearheaded by top female player, Priyanna Ramdhani and male powerhouse, Akili Haynes.
Just a few days ago, Haynes reigned supreme in the Men’s A division of the World Badminton Day tournament with Tyrese Jeffrey second followed by Marlon Chung and Avinash Odit.
In the Women’s A division, Ramdhani finished first while Shivannie Persaud was second. Priyanka Shivnauth and Alima Eastman finished joint third.
Viraj Singh won the Men’s B division and Jonathan Debidin the Men’s C division while Eastman won the Women’s B division and Gabrielle Felix the Women’s C division.
