Keenin Fraser was found with 27 pounds of cannabis sativa worth more than $11 million in his possession yesterday at Coomacka Mines Junction, during a roadblock exercise.
According to the police, at about 14.15 hours yesterday, police ranks were conducting roadblock exercises at Coomacka Mines Junction when they observed a black Nissan Note, PZZ 8168, heading towards them at a fast rate.
The ranks ordered the car to stop, but the driver continued past at a fast rate. The ranks gave chase and the vehicle careened off the trail, ended up on the parapet, and came to a halt on its side.
Upon subsequent inspection, the ranks observed a lone driver who identified himself as Keenin Fraser.
In the front passenger seat, next to Fraser, was a bulky black garbage bag containing a quantity of leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis sativa.
Fraser was arrested and escorted to the Mackenzie Police Station, where the narcotic was weighed in his presence and amounted to 27 pounds with a street value of more than $11 million.
Fraser was placed into custody pending further investigation and charges.
