Three arrested after drug bust at Kumaka resort

Three persons are in custody after they were arrested on Friday night by ranks from the Mabaruma Police Station who acted on information received and searched a resort at Kumaka, Region One where they found 831 grams of suspected marijuana and 20 grams of suspected cocaine.

Guyana to commence millet cultivation trials with India seeds

The Government of Guyana through the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) will soon commence trials for millet cultivation after receiving a quantity of seeds from the Indian Government, a MoA release yesterday stated Indian High Commissioner to Guyana, Dr K J Srinivasa, on Friday handed over the seeds to Agriculture Minister, Zulfikar Mustapha, during a ceremony at the ministry’s offices.

Roshane Dellon Pellew called ‘Kevin Savory’, a 26-year-old labourer of Lot 25 Buxton, East Coast Demerara, was arrested on 2023-08-02 and charged on 2023-08-04 with possession of a firearm without a licence, the police say.
