Defending champion Slingerz FC and Uitvlugt recorded lopsided wins when the West Demerara Football Association Senior Men’s League commenced yesterday at the Tuschen ground.
Slingerz mauled Wales 11-0. Eight players were on target during their comfortable win, as the contest was effectively over at the halftime interval following a 3-0 score-line.
Samuel Garnett, Jamal Codrington and Hector Azacon recorded respective doubles in the goal rush. Garnett found the back of the net in the 62nd and 70th minute, whilst Codrington scored in the 38th and 76th minute, and Azacon converted in the 75th and 84th minute.
Tallying the other five strikes in the third, 45th, 53rd, 59th, and 65th minute respectively were the quintet of Dominique Bobb, Leo Lovell, Ricardo Halley, Cardel Roberts and Rondel Peters respectively.
Similarly, Uitvlugt crushed Leguan 4-1. Junior Fraser recorded a double in the 20th and 29th minute, whilst Louis Primo and Casper Evans added to the score in the 32nd and 53rd minute respectively. The event continues today at the same venue with another round of matches.
