The Lucas Stock Index fell 0.429 percent during the final period of trading in July 2023. A total of 92,957 shares changed hands during this trading period. There were no Climbers and three Tumblers, leading to a decline of G$3.9B in the value of the LSI.
The decline was engendered by the lower stock price of three companies, namely Banks DIH (DIH), Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) and Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (BTI). DIH lost 1 percent on the sale of 53,035 shares while DDL lost 0.727 percent on the sale of 2,693 shares. BTI fell 0.526 percent on the sale of 30 shares.
In the meanwhile, the stock prices of Demerara Bank Limited (DBL), Demerara Tobacco Company (DTC), Republic Bank Limited (RBL) and Sterling Products Limited (SPL) remained unchanged on the sale of 19,669; 38; 7,440 and 10,052 shares respectively.
