Guyana’s Mixed Martial Arts fighter Carlston Harris improved his overall record to 19-5 following a victory over American Jeremiah Wells on his return to the Octagon at the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) Fight Night 226 at the Bridgestone Arena, Nashville, Tennessee, Saturday.

It was Harris’s fourth win under the UFC banner as he forced Wells to submit via an anaconda choke with 1:50s remaining in round three.

In the process Harris handed his opponent his first loss in the organization.

The win was also Harris’s second in succession after he earned a unanimous decision in his prior outing against Jared Gooden.  Prior to the stoppage, Harris was losing on the judge’s scorecard.

Harris suffered his only defeat in the UFC to unbeaten contender Shavkat Rakhmonov of Kazakhstan via a first-round knockout on the main card of the promotion’s Fight Night: Hermansson vs. Strickland event on February 5th, 2022.

Prior to that defeat, Harris had scored a technical knockout over Impa Kasanganay at UFC Fight Night 192 on September 18th, 2021 in his second outing with the promotion.

In his debut match, Harris defeated Christian Aguilera via an anaconda choke submission at UFC Vegas 26 on May 8th, 2021.
