Duo remanded over robbing of Canadian on Croal St

Twenty-year-old Mark Griffith, of Lot 26 Bent Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown and twenty-five-year-old Nicolas Hyman of M 62 Samaan Street, Diamond Park, East Bank Demerara appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court yesterday before Acting Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus to answer to the charge of robbery under arms.

The charge was jointly read to them and they both denied it.

The particulars of the offence stated that on Sunday 6th August, at Croal Street, Georgetown, while in the company of each other and armed with a knife, they robbed Ross Waters of one iPhone Pro cellular phone, valued $300,000, $400 USD equivalent to $80,000 Guyana currency, $100 CAN equivalent to $16,000 Guyana currency and 100 Real or Brazilian dollars, equivalent to $4,220 Guyana currency. They were both represented by attorney at law Stacy Giddings.
