Carl Krishna (address not stated) appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly yesterday to answer the charge of assault committed against Johnny Griffith, his uncle.
It is alleged that on 8th August, at James and Garnett streets, Albouys-town, Georgetown, the defendant unlawfully and maliciously wounded his uncle.
Krishna pleaded not guilty to the offence, telling the Magistrate at the Georgetown court that it was in self-defence since his uncle chucked him with a sword.
Griffith told the magistrate that he did not chuck the defendant with a sword and this was not the first time that Krishna had attacked him.
Griffith also told the court that while he was telling the defendant’s brother of his behaviour he was attacked once again.
Bail was refused.
Krishna is expected to make his next court appearance on 2nd October for statements.
