The Department of Co-operatives Societies (COOP), Ministry of Labour yesterday intervened in the management of the Guyana Public Service Co-operative Credit Union (GPSCCU) to fill three interim positions as mandated by a court order.
The High Court had ordered that Gillian Pollard, Ruth Howard and Karen Vanslyutman-Corbin be prohibited from conducting business for the GPSCCU.
In accord with this, a release from the Ministry of Labour yesterday said that Rajdai Jaggernauth has been appointed in the position of Corbin (Chairman), Patrick Mentore for Pollard (Secre-tary), and Trevor Benn for Howard (Committee member).
The release said that all decisions made during the meeting yesterday are in accordance with Chapter 88:01 of the Co-operative Societies Act and the court order dated July 5, 2023.
There has been a long-running dispute between two factions of the credit union for control of it.
