Ten weeks of pre-service training ended on Thursday as a new batch was sworn into service as Peace Corps Volunteers by Chargé d’Affaires, U.S. Embassy Georgetown, Adrienne Galanek.
A release from the US Embassy said that these volunteers will now live and work in local communities in 7 of the 10 regions. They will address early childhood literacy, adolescent health, and environmental stewardship. The widespread placement of volunteers is possible for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic.
