Fifty-one complete GDF skill-at-arms course

Fifty ranks of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) and one rank of the Guyana Prison Service recently completed the GDF’s Skill-At-Arms Course (SAAC).

The six-week course ended with a ceremony at the Colonel John Clark Military School, Tacama, the GDF said in a release.

Sergeant (SGT) Simeon Spencer won the Best Graduating Student award, while SGT Melvin Watts earned the Runner-up graduating Student and Best Coach prizes. Corporal Cheddi Darsham was adjudged the best shot.

The Junior and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers and their lone Guyana Prison Service counterpart covered a number of subject areas including Physical Fitness, Method of Instructions, General Skill-At-Arms, Field Craft, coaching, First Aid, Weapon Handling, Weapon Proficiency, and Force Social Media Policy and Values and Standards.
