Dear Editor,
I was very pleased to read that my old Sacred Heart School buddy Charles ‘Bonnie’ Ramson Sr. has published his third book on matters legal ‘Metrics of Bar and Practice’ dedicated to the late Ashton Chase. I am sure that the former Attorney General’s tome will be erudite based on his many years of practice in Guyana. It will also be well written – the boy has always loved his English. I hugely look forward to reading my copy.
On the subject of retired politicians, it is a slippery slope and ladders soon become snakes. Dare I ask whatever became of Ramson’s fellow politico-legal ‘eagles’ Basil Williams, Moses Nagamootoo, Khemraj Ramjattan, Joe Harmon and Raphael Trotman? Fame is brief in the furnace of politics and power.
Sincerely,
John ‘Bill Cotton/Reform’ Mair
