The first ever national junior golf championships in Guyana’s history will be held on Saturday at the Nexgen Golf Academy on Woolford Avenue from 13:00hrs.
This event comes on the heels of the135 players from around the country who fought their way into the finals of the Inaugural National Golf Championships where the Ministry of Education and the Guyana Tourism Authority played key roles coordinating with the Guyana Golf Association.
The event will feature top players from Regions 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 who participated in the regional tournaments over the past week. Dominant performance by several young players have put them in positions for spots on the national team. Guyana Golf Association (GGA), head, Aleem Hussain said, “The level of talent we discovered from many first time players was truly exceptional and we are confident that with the continued training the academy provides, they will become dominant in the region.
