Roy Lamazon, a 29-year-old miner from Hadfield Street, Wortmanville, was arrested on August 11th, 2023, by a rank from Providence Police Station and charged yesterday with possession of drugs.
The accused appeared at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrate’s Court #2 before Principal Magis-trate Judy Latchman, who read the charges to him.
He pleaded not guilty and was remanded to prison. The matter was adjourned to September 1st, 2023.
Lamazon was nabbed during an intelligence-led operation on the Provi-dence Public Road, East Bank Demerara, where a minibus was stopped and searched and police found 11,200 grams of suspected marijuana stashed in a cardboard box atop the vehicle that was en route to Lethem.
