Junior Guyanese players will be heating up the badminton courts in Trinidad and Tobago from tomorrow as they compete in CAREBACO junior tournament.
According to the Guyana Badminton Association, “The members of the Guyana Badminton Association are hopeful to bring home medals for their country.”
Twelve of the country’s best young prospects will take to the court under the guidance of top senior players Priyanna Ramdhani and Akili Haynes while the team will be accompanied by GBA president, Emilia Ramdhani and Martina Bacchus-Felix.
Following the junior tournament, the Trinidad & Tobago International Tournament (senior) will be held August 22-26, where Haynes will compete in the men’s singles, Ramdhani in the women’s singles and the pair in the mixed doubles. In the women’s doubles, Ramdhani will partner with a regional colleague out of Barbados.
The team is expected to depart today and will comprise of the following players in their respective categories.
