The Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) yesterday said that it has concluded its investigations into the circumstances that led to an emergency landing of a FlyAlways aircraft on Monday and the correct procedures were followed.
A statement from the GCAA said that the aircraft departed CJIA on August 14 at 10:37 am destined for Bonaire International Airport with 44 passengers on board. At approximately 10:55 am, the pilot reported to Air Traffic Controllers that the aircraft was showing an engine warning light for oil pressure limit on the right engine and requested clearance for a return to land. Additionally, the pilot reported that the crew was shutting down the distressed engine.
