Rosignol United thrashed Ithaca by an 8-1 score when the Berbice Football Association Senior Men’s League continued on Wednesday evening.
The contest, which was contested at the Rosignol Community ground, was effectively over at the halftime interval, as the hosts romped to a 4-0 lead. Rayon Rose opened the scoring in the sixth minute, which was followed by an Anthony Alexander conversion in the 20th minute.
Terique Benn then got into the scoring act in the 27th minute to make it 3-0, before the perfect first half was capped off by Alexander who completed his brace in the 33rd minute.
Though Ithaca was able to reduce the deficit at 1-4 in the 46th minute via Jaheim Elgin conversion, the lopsided nature of the contest ensued as Rosignol recorded an additional four goals. Royan Solomon found the back of the net in the 59th minute, before Marc Galloway etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 64th minute to push the score to 6-1.
Galloway then made his presence felt once more, completing his double with a 73rd minute shot, before the result was sealed five minutes later through a LaShawn Myles effort.
