Akali Moore, 33, appeared virtually yesterday at the Georgetown Court before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly to answer to the capital offence of murder.
It is alleged that on August 14 at Lot 112 Second Street, Silvertown, Wismar, Linden, Moore murdered Sherry Moore and Yokella Adams, by setting fire to their place of dwelling. Adams was said to have celebrated her birthday on the same day.
He was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge.
The court heard that due to the radiated heat, two neighbouring houses were also damaged. An eastern wall on the top floor of one of the buildings was severely scorched, while the other building suffered minimal damage to some window panes.
Moore is scheduled to make his next court appearance on September 07 for statements.
