Twenty-four-year-old Stephen King appeared on Friday at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly to answer to the charge of simple larceny.
King pleaded not guilty to the charge.
It is alleged that between August 14 and 15, at Third Street, Agricola, Georgetown, King stole one Honda motorcycle, CM 2383, valued $495,000, belonging to John Hetsberger.
The court heard that on August 14 at 8 pm, Hetsberger secured his motorcycle at his home and retired to bed. When he awoke the following day, he discovered that his motorcycle was missing. The man was then informed by persons living in the area that they saw King riding his motorcycle. The accused was arrested the following day, and admitted orally to the offence.
The police prosecutor objected to bail on the grounds that the defendant had prior arrests for matters of a similar nature. As such, bail was refused.
King will make his next court appearance on October 6 for statements.
