The police yesterday morning arrested a Sparendaam gold miner and his wife after suspected cannabis was found on their premises.
During an exercise in the Plaisance, Better Hope and Vryheid’s Lust villages between 6 am and 7 am yesterday, a search was carried out at the home of Kevin Archer, a 31-year-old gold miner and Carletta Sutton, a 31-year-old of Lot 1 Sparendaam, East Coast Demerara, a release from the police said.
In the kitchen area, police found a plastic bag, which had inside twelve Bamboo, a quantity of transparent zip lock bags and two transparent plastic bags containing leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis. The contents were shown to the occupants of the home. They were told of the offence committed, cautioned and both denied ownership.
