Port Mourant and Skeldon Community Centre registers huge wins Saturday when the Republic Bank GCB U23 Inter-Club Super50 tournament continued in Berbice
Port Mourant beat Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTYSC) by five wickets.
Batting first, Rose Hall were dismissed for 133 with Romesh Bharat (46) and Jonathan Rampersaud (20) the top scorers. The Boodwah trio of Navin 3- 20, Ravin 2-25 and Romel 3- 21 sliced through the opposition bowling for Port Mourant who, in reply, ended on 134 for 5 in 34.1 overs. Rampersaud Ramnauth (41), Dave Ramgolam (31) and Navin Boodwah (29) led their team’s batting. Rose Hall bowling was led by Jonathan Rampersaud (2-25).
In another fixture, Skeldon Estate Community Center beat 69 Vikings by 132 runs.
Skeldon Estate Community Centre scored 188 all out in 23 overs. Sarwan Chitnarine (79), Abseer Hussian (24) and Farhan Elmodeen (21) were the principal scorers. Bowling for 69 Vikings, T. Lemraj grabbed 5-47 off of five overs while A. Yacoob 2-37 and G. Doodauth 2- 36 lent support.
In reply 69 Vikings were skittled out for 56 with the pair of Yacoob (15) and Doonauth (14) the only batsmen to reach double figures.
M.Chaitnarine 4-18 and A. Hussian 4-28 were destroyers for Skeldon.
Action continued yesterday in Berbice with Tucber Park Cricket Club taking on East Bank Cricket Club at the Sisters Ground.
