The Demerara Volleyball Association (DVA) men’s team failed to make the finals of the Volleyball International Cup in Roraima, Brazil, losing to Amazonas 0-3 on Saturday evening in the semi-final section.
The fixture was a rematch from the earlier group round, which was won by the Guyanese outfit. However, DVA started the match poorly and fell behind 0-1 as they lost the first set 9-25. Though they improved in the second set, DVA fell further behind as they conceded the second set 19-25 to trail 0-2.
The result was then sealed in the third set, as the DVA lost 18-25.
