President Irfaan Ali today announced that the National Intelligence and Security Agency building will be renamed to recognise the contributions of former Cabinet Secretary and Secretary to the Defence Board, the late Dr Roger Luncheon.
According to a release from the Office of the President, Ali made this disclosure while paying his final respects to Luncheon at his home-going service held today at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre.
“𝐻𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑛 𝑎 𝑐𝑜𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑔𝑢𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑚𝑒. 𝐻𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑎 𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑜𝑟. 𝐼 𝑟𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑒𝑑 𝑢𝑝𝑜𝑛 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑡𝑟𝑢𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑑 ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑤𝑖𝑠𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑠𝑒𝑙. 𝐼 𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑖𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑒𝑓𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑡 ℎ𝑒 𝑖𝑛𝑣𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑖𝑛 𝑛𝑢𝑟𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑚𝑦 𝑝𝑜𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑙 𝑐𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑒𝑟”, the President said.
President Ali said Dr Luncheon’s life was also dedicated to ordinary Guyanese.
