The Upper Corentyne zone of the Dave West Indian Imports second-division tournament run by the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) got underway recently with Skeldon Estate winning by the mammoth margin of 303 runs.
Playing against RFK Academy at the Skeldon Community Development Centre Ground, Skeldon Estate made 336 all out in 39.3 overs. S. Rasheed 98, F. Elmodeed 63 and N. Seenarine 32 were the principal scorers.
Bowling for RFK Academy, E. Bobb took 2 for 33 and Z. Mahesh 3 for 44.

K. Dhup was the top scorer with 12 while Q. Burnett took 5 for 11.
The tournament, which has at stake a first prize of $100,000, involves the staging of matches in five zones from the Berbice Riverain, New Amsterdam/Canje, West Berbice, Lower Corentyne and Upper Corentyne areas.
Two of the five zones have been successfully completed with Cotton Tree winning the West Berbice zone and Wiruni CC copping the Berbice Riverain zone.
The overall Berbice champions will be crowned when the five champions clash in a knockout tournament.
A total of twenty-eight teams are participating in the Upper Corentyne zone which has been divided into sub zones in the area.
