The Ministry of Labour’s Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Department says it is investigating the workplace fatality that occurred at Splashmin Housing Project, East Bank Demerara (EBD).
The incident occurred, shortly before noon today. Twenty-one-year-old serviceman, Robert Chin of Kuru Kururu Squatting area was electrocuted while performing his duties.
He was transported to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre, where he was pronounced dead.
Following reports of the incident, an OSH Officer visited the worksite where the incident occurred and began investigations.
