The first round of the Cricket West Indies Under-17 Regional two-day championship got underway yesterday with Guyana trailing Jamaica by 135 runs at stumps.
Playing at the National Cricket Centre, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica took first strike and posted 200 for nine declared in 53.2 overs. Guyana closed on 65 for two after 34 overs.
Off-spinner, Matthew Pottaya led the charge for Guyana with the ball, taking 3-32 while getting support from Bruce Vincent with 2-34.
Darwin Joseph, Jonathan Van Lange, Nicholas Shiopersaud and Romeo Deonarain chipped in with one wicket each.
