Monedderlust recorded the largest margin of victory to date in the Berbice Football Association Senior Men’s League, thrashing newcomer Fyrish 18-0 on Wednesday evening at the Rosignol Community ground.
A whopping 10 conversions were recorded in the first half, which effectively settled the outcome. Overall, the quartet of Paul McDonald, Kevin Cottoy, Daniel La Rose, and Raul Semple were responsible for 15 of the eventual 18 conversions.
The trio of McDonald, Cottoy, and La Rose recorded respective helmet tricks in the contest, while Semple tallied a hat-trick. McDonald made his presence felt in the 13th, 20th, 40th, and 57th minute, whilst Cottoy found the back of the net in the 10th, 26th, 30th, and 58th minute. In similar fashion, La Rose tallied his second half haul in the 50th, 53rd, 61st, and 65th minute.
On the other hand, Raul Semple etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 19th, 25th, and 62nd minute. The other three conversions were recorded by the trio of Terrence Lewis, Akeemo Watts, and Raynel Ross, who scored in the 37th, 45th, and 52nd minute apiece.
The tournament continues on Sunday at the same venue with a doubleheader.
