Potaro Strikers crushed Wolves United by a 4-0 score-line when the Bartica Football Association Senior Men’s League continued at the Community Centre ground on Wednesday evening.
Two goals on either side of the halftime interval sealed the comfortable victory for the Potaro outfit. Daniel Gardener opened the scoring in the 18th minute, whilst Kevin Reddy doubled the advantage, as he slotted past the goalkeeper in the 30th minute.
Reon Hall then made his presence felt in the 62nd minute to push the score to 3-0, before Floyd Jones sealed the result with an 85th minute strike.
Meanwhile, Lazio and AK Galaxy battled to a 1-1 stalemate. Omar Persaud handed Lazio the first half lead via a 30th minute conversion. However, AK Galaxy earned a share of the spoils in the form of Mohabir Sooknandan, who etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 75th minute to restore parity to proceedings.
On Monday at the same venue, league leader Beacons and defending champion Rivers View recorded comfortable wins. Beacons crushed Mil Ballers 4-0. Whitney Welcome amassed a hat-trick in the 22nd, 23rd, and 47th minute. He was supported by Curt Welcome and Shaquille Hopkinson, who found the back of the net in the ninth and 33rd minute respectively.
Similarly, Rivers View downed emerging outfit Rising Stars 4-0. The contest was over in the opening period, as all four conversions were recorded in the space of 31 minutes. Omario Lake crafted a brace in the 26th and 31st minute, whilst the combination of Don Lam and Joshua Jones found the back of the net in the 14th and 27th minute apiece.
