Man gets six weeks for abusive language to partner

Shawn Saunders (address not stated), appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on Friday before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly where he was charged with the use of abusive language.

It is alleged that on August 22, at Alberttown Police Station, the defendant used abusive language to Leanna Smith causing a breach of the peace.

Sanders pleaded guilty with explanation. “Your worship I am not a violent man but is better if I cuss her than beat her.”

Magistrate Daly sentenced the defendant to six weeks imprisonment.
