Dear Editor,
I commend the Ministry of Health for putting in place a hotline facility which will allow for persons dissatisfied with services rendered to be brought to the attention of the subject Minister. This initiative by President Irfaan Ali is an essential component of a broader accountability framework where persons are held accountable for their actions as public officers. The PPP/C administration has been investing heavily in the delivery of quality health care to the Guyanese people. This is manifested in the training of medical personnel, construction of new hospitals, and drugs’ procurement. It is fair expectation for Guyanese to see tangible results from such investments. The hotline mechanism will provide an opportunity for members of the public to ventilate their views and concerns on the quality of health care they received which could result in necessary corrective action.
Sincerely,
Hydar Ally
