A 57-year-old Lusignan Gold Club guard was yesterday found dead on the premises with his hands bound.
The police say that at about 6:20 am yesterday, someone called the Vigilance Police Station and reported that a body was at Lusignan Golf Club.
The Police responded and found Dalchand Dhanai, 57, lying face down in the upper flat of the building in what appeared to be dried blood with injuries to his head. His hands were bound with shoelaces.
He resided at Lot 69 Lusignan Pasture, East Coast Demerara.
Meanwhile, Commander Krishna Ramana and a Team of Police officers and ranks from Division 4C yesterday visited the home of the late Dhanai, where they met with the grieving wife, children, relatives and co-workers of the deceased.
Commander Ramana and the team expressed condolences to the family and co-workers of Dhanai. Ramana assured the family that a thorough investigation would be done into his tragic death.
The family was grateful for the Police visit and kind words during this very difficult time of grief and mourning.
The team also paid a visit to the Lusignan Golf Club where the tragic incident took place.
