President of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), Kester Hutson, on Thursday met with a team from the Bureau of Statistics led by Head of the National Accounts Department, Ivor Coates, to discuss the upcoming National Economic Survey (NES).
A release from the Chamber said that during the meeting, Coates outlined the objectives and benefits of the NES, and explained that the Bureau is looking forward to working with the GCCI, and other private sector organisations, in sensitizing the business community about the importance of ensuring that the necessary contributions to the survey are made.
The release said that the NES is a business survey that will collect data from businesses of all sizes and sectors. The survey’s data will be used to build a comprehensive database to calculate GDP accurately and inform smart policymaking.
