Regional Commander of Division #10, Superinten-dent Guy Nurse and his team on Thursday paid a visit to the Linden Chamber of Commerce Committee at Lens Build-ing, Mackenzie, Linden.

At the meeting, President of the Linden Chamber of Commerce, Linden Young; Regional Vice Chairman for Region 10, Mark Goring; accompanied by four other Committee Members raised several issues and concerns with the police team.

These included 1) a request for monthly meetings to be held with the Police and the Chamber of Commerce with a view to addressing concerns that may be affecting the community as a partnership initiative; 2) speeding trucks with trade plates posing a hazard to road users; 3) a request for more police presence around the area of Citizens Bank; 4) the current crime situation; 5) a request for a mechanism to be put in place to cater for young people being reintegrated into society who would have failed the random drug test, which resulted in them being laid off from work at ALYA Constructions; 6) the need for persons to be more vigilant about trucks or other vehicles leaking fuel, which is a hazard; 7) an appropriate time for trucks traversing the Wismar/ Mackenzie Bridge between 07:30hrs and 08:30hrs on Mondays and Tuesdays, considering the peak hours where persons have to drop their children to school and then go to work; 8) the issue of persons breaching the Wismar/Mackenzie Bridge traffic light; 9) the improper packing of log trucks; and 10) speeding along the One Mile Public Road.
