A Black Bush Polder (BPP) single mother of three yesterday received a newly constructed and furnished house through the Men on a Mission (MoM) Initiative created by President Irfaan Ali.
Sadna Rambarran of Lesbeholden, BBP, received a two-bedroom fully furnished and fenced house costing a total of $8m.
The woman had reportedly approached President Ali during an outreach in Region Six requesting assistance and subsequently Devanand Sawh of D Sawh Mechanical Workshop took up the task to build the house after which he offered to furnish it as well so as to ensure the family can live comfortably.
Minister of Agriculture, Zulfikar Mustapha who handed over the house to the family yesterday stressed that the government will continue to enhance the livelihoods of Guyanese.
Under this initiative, eight houses have been constructed in the region so far.
