A man found dead at Parika on Saturday suffered multiple incised wounds.
This is according to a post-mortem examination done by Government Pathologist Dr Nehaul Singh.
A statement from the police yesterday said that he gave the cause of death of 47-year-old Ravi Ramrattan, called ‘Socks’ as multiple incised wounds.
Ramrattan’s body was found on 2023-09-02 in the vicinity of Lotus Mall at Parika, East Bank Essequibo.
The body was lying on its back and clothed in long black pants, a black jersey, and a reddish bath towel wrapped around it. When examined, the body was seen with chop wounds. A bedsheet with what appeared to be blood was found next to the body.
Enquiries disclosed that Ramrattan resided in an abandoned bus located in the vicinity of Courts ‘turn’, Parika (next to Fresh Sports Bar). He was last seen alive on 2023-09-01 at about 17:00 hrs by his friend.
Several persons in the area were questioned, but no useful information was received regarding the injuries on Ramrattan’s body.
